Save the Date
Our annual Apple Cider Ramble and Fall Fest at Peach Hill is scheduled for Saturday September 28 (rain date September 29).  The event will include apple cider pressing, kid’s games, a horse drawn hayride and much more.  Make sure you save the date now so you don’t miss your chance to participate.

Park Improvement Projects
This summer we have been busy working on a number of major improvements throughout our park system.  In the next month you will see the installation of a new universally accessible playground at Overocker Park; work underway on bathrooms and a septic field at Greenvale Park; and continuation of our playground surfacing restoration program with work at Crestwood Park, Fairview Park and Hagantown Park.

This year we have finished several minor and major projects.  These include:  a new basketball court at Greenvale Park; refreshed playground surfacing at Crown Heights, Red Oaks Mill, Stanley Still, Greenvale and Riverview Parks; as well as a walkway and pavilion floor at the Soccer Fields.

Concerts
We had a successful summer concert series this year.  Over 1500 people attended the Music in the Park concerts. We were lucky that with mostly cooperating weather and the pavilion at Greenvale Park we were able to hold all 7 of the concerts outside. Thank you to our bands and to everyone who attended.

Senior Center Vacation
Our Senior Center will be closed from August 19-September 2 for our annual cleaning and refurbishment. For more information about the varied programs at our center, you can see our monthly newsletter on our website www.PoughkeepsieTownRec.com or pick up a copy at Town Hall.
