Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve (Vassar College)
20 Vassar Farm Lane, Corner of Raymond Ave and Hooker Ave/New Hackensack Rd
Vassar Farm & Ecological Preserve
This 500 acre property is part of Vassar College. It was used by the college for a farming operation to supply food for the Vassar Campus. It ceased that operation in 1976.
It is now the Vassar Farm & Ecological Preserve, a valuable ecological and educational resource to the community. The preserve is the site of field research about local environmental issues. It is also a perfect place to observe wildlife, run and hike. There are several miles of marked trails on the property open to the public during daylight hours. For more information contact: Keri VanCamp 845-437-7414
The Vassar Farm is also home to the Poughkeepsie Farm Project. The Farm Project is a not for profit CSA (community supported agriculture) organization that provides fresh organic food to the community. For information visit
or call (845) 516-1100.
